In the morning, we had a wonderful breakfast, a mix of typical American breakfast food as well as Costa Rican specialties, including some of the best pineapple we’ve ever had! We explored the grounds of the resort for a while and then went into the nearby town of La Fortuna for some shopping and lunch.
The first day of our honeymoon, we arrived at our resort in the evening after a 5 hour drive from the airport (the roads aren’t so great, so we weren’t going faster than 35 mph for most of it). We were greeted by the very friendly staff with tropical drinks.
We had a private casita with a porch overlooking Volcano Arenal. Our bed was decorated with rose petals and towel art. There were a couple of chairs, a hammock, and a hot tub on the porch.
We had a typical Costa Rican dinner that night- very delicious and full of Wes’s favorite herb, cilantro!
